Arturas Slapsys was born in 1962 in Kaunas city, Lithuania where he began painting at a very young age. During his education at The Kaunas University of Technology, Arturas began to experiment with his artistic craft, setting down the path that led to his mastery of oil and acrylic paint. Since 1996 his work has touched many people in every corner of the world and is in the private and institutional collections through Ukraine, Lithuania, Great Britain, Bulgaria, Australia, Iceland and the United States, where he lived for 15 years. In 2010 the Lithuanian Postal Service issued two postage stamps, ''Merry Christmas and Happy New Year'', both of which were designed by Slapsys.
